Afternoon Dynamic Minds community,
Today I want to talk about learning styles. Everyone has a specific way in which they learn best. For some, certain learning styles come naturally to them. Some people are more comfortable writing notes in lectures rather than re-watching it to gather information. Others like to build a computer from scratch rather than looking at instructional pictures in a
manual. Sometimes there are people who like to learn using multiple learning styles at once.
Working in education for a little over a decade, I have seen students use preferred learning styles. I have seen students do better with math problems after drawing out a number diagram. I have seen students understand the concept after writing multi colored notes in their lingo with their favorite gel pens. Even myself, I prefer writing out notes and reading educational material. We all have learning styles that we prefer when learning a new skill.
There are four major learning styles: visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and reading/writing. Visual learning style is the use of images, organizers, and maps to learn. Auditory learning style is speaking and hearing something to learn. Kinesthetic learning style is taking apart something and using a “hands on approach” to learn. The reading/writing learning style is writing notes and reading to learn.
Thanks for reading!!! Wishing you all a wonderful day! If you enjoyed this, read more on teach.com/what/teachers-know/learning-styles/
